Mirror Sport looks at everything you need to know about Laura Woods – from her monumental net worth to her blossoming relationship with former Love Island contestant Adam Collard
Laura Woods has taken the world of presenting by storm through her knowledge of football, boxing and multiple other sports, as well as her dedication to the trade.
The 37-year-old was born in Dagenham in 1987 and would show an interest in the media from a young age – taking up print journalism at Kingston University. Upon graduating, she got a job at Sky Sports as a runner, working her way up to an editorial assistant before stepping sideways into the world of production.
She initially started presenting behind the scenes interviews for darts on the broadcaster’s YouTube channel, before securing a spot on Saturday morning childrens show Game Changers. She would move on to report on the NFL as well as working for the Soccer AM online presenting team, before breaking into the industry as a Super Sunday pitch-side reporter.
However, in 2022 she would part ways with Sky Sports and go to work for DAZN on their boxing and Women’s Champions League coverage. She would join TNT Sports in July 2023, and become the lead presenter for the UEFA Champions League and boxing coverage – while also working as a presenter for ITV during the 2023 Women’s World Cup. Woods has most recently also been working on ITV’s coverage of the Euro 2024 tournament in Germany.
However, TV was far from Woods’ only forte, with the presenter being the voice of talkSPORT’s breakfast show between Monday and Wednesday between March 2020 and June 2023. Alan Brazil, meanwhile, took Thursdays and Fridays for the show.
What is Laura Woods’ net worth?
Through her punditry ventures and various TV appearances, Woods has an estimated net worth of around £2million – a sum which makes her one of the UK’s richest hosts.
For context, reports back in October last year suggested that Alex Scott has a net worth of £1.5million, while BBC pundit Gary Lineker has a reported wealth of £30million. Not bad for playing and talking about football!
Relationship with Adam Collard
Woods is currently dating former Love Island contestant Adam Collard, 28, after having started courting last year. Adam revealed that it was he who slid into the presenter’s DMs, before the two met in person.
The Geordie soon declared that Woods was ‘the one’ when their relationship went public through Laura sharing a quickly deleted slew of loved-up snaps.
The couple often now share cuddly photos together on social media, with Adam dubbing his beau ‘a little bit of everything’ in May, and Woods captioning a series of snaps including Adam ‘things I love’ in April.
Their relationship blossomed after Woods broke up with boyfriend of eight years and England rugby star Alex Corbisiero, while Collard had previously dated Zara McDermott, Sarah Godfrey and Paige Thorne.
Dreams of marriage and having children
While Woods currently has no children, she has previously revealed that she one day wants to get married and potentially have kids. Speaking on her last relationship with Corbisiero, she told The Sun: “My last relationship was eight years and I was nearing 30 when we broke up.
“It was my decision – it was the right one and I’ve never regretted it. We’d lived in each other’s pockets and breaking up with him felt like coming up for air. The next thing for us was probably marriage and having kids. And I do want that one day – I love being in love and I love kids. But I’ve prioritised work because I love that too and my ambitions are important to me.”
Collard, 28, has similar hopes for the future, as he discussed his plans for the future with Woods to OnlyAccounts.com. He said: “I’m protective, whether it’s Laura, or my family, my friends.
“I want to get married. I want to have kids as well. I’ve always thought, what type of person will I be? How can I protect my kids?
“Obviously I’ve never had a kid, but I don’t think I’ll be plastering it all over [social media]. I want them to have a fair fight and a chance not to be judged straight away.
“As long as my really close circle knows exactly who I am, I don’t care. I think you have to take everything with a pinch of salt.”
