BREAKING: Jason Kelce might encounter an awkward reunion with Taylor Swift at Travis and the Chiefs’ playoff game in Buffalo on Sunday
Jason Kelce has hinted at attending his brother Travis’ Kansas City Chiefs playoff game in Buffalo this weekend.
After the Philadelphia Eagles, his current team, were eliminated from the playoffs by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jason now has some free time on his schedule.
When asked about his plans for the coming weeks, Jason Kelce stated, “I don’t know. That’s one of the beautiful things about the offseason, it’s unscheduled. Obviously, my brother is still in the playoffs. I don’t get to watch him play very often, so maybe I’ll get an opportunity to go watch one of those games this week.”
If Jason Kelce does decide to attend the game, he may be joined by his supportive parents, Donna and Ed.
However, there could be an awkward situation if Jason’s wife, Kylie, also chooses to attend, as there have been reports of tensions between Kylie and Travis’ girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
A recent report from Life and Style magazine suggested that Taylor Swift does not have a warm relationship with Jason and Kylie Kelce. Allegedly, Swift has not felt particularly welcome around them, and comments made to the media about their relationship have caused discomfort.
In a November interview before the Eagles faced the Chiefs in Kansas City, Kylie Kelce stated that she prefers to watch games from the stands rather than luxury suites, where Swift often watches the Chiefs play.
Although Swift has met Kelce’s parents, there are no publicly available pictures of her meeting with Jason or Kylie, despite Travis’ close relationship with his older brother.
The source quoted in Life and Style stated, “Taylor hasn’t had the best reception from Jason and his wife.” Kylie’s comments about the spotlight, in particular, seemed to upset Swift, leading to an awkward dynamic between them.
Jason Kelce has seen his public profile rise due to his close relationship with Travis, as they co-host the successful New Heights podcast together. While Jason has been supportive of Travis’ relationship with Swift, tensions seem to persist with Kylie’s comments and public perception.
Despite the reported tensions, Kylie publicly clarified that her “spotlight” comments were not meant as criticism of Taylor Swift. She defended herself on TikTok, stating that it wasn’t her intention to criticize Swift but rather to express her preference for a low-key approach.
Additionally, Kylie used a Taylor Swift song in a TikTok video about her daughter, Wyatt, and expressed her admiration for Swift in a heartfelt post.
Swift was initially planning to attend the Eagles-Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium in November, but she had to reschedule a tour date in Brazil to the same day due to extreme heat.
She intended to introduce her parents to Donna and Ed Kelce during the game, which would have provided an opportunity to meet Jason and Kylie as well.
