Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was seen getting into a screaming match with rookie receiver Rashee Rice late in the fourth quarter at the Super Bowl.

The heated sideline exchange happened after the Chiefs final offensive play of regulation, when Mahomes only looked in Travis Kelce‘s direction for the fourth quarter’s final pass.

Rice and Mahomes were eventually separated by teammates before cooler heads prevailed.

On the Chiefs final offensive play of regulation, Rice was open across the middle of the field. A catch could have led to the game-winning touchdown.

After the confrontation, Rice caught two passes from Mahomes in overtime.

Rice took exception with his quarterback not looking his way for a late-game touchdown

Rice was selected in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Chiefs.

During a roller-coaster regular season, where the Chiefs did not have a reliable pass catcher outside of Kelce, Rice stepped up when other wide receivers could not.

Yet, Rice felt comfortable enough to speak his mind to his quarterback in a critical stretch.

Mahomes only looking Kelce’s way in single coverage did not eventually cost the Chiefs, as they won the game in overtime.

Rice has now won his first Super Bowl in his rookie season, while Mahomes won his third NFL title.
