According to statistics from Forbes magazine, Gal Gadot was the most expensive actress in 2017, bringing in $1.4 billion in revenue for producers through the two films she appeared in, including Wonder Woman and Justice League. Gal Gadot’s role as the beautiful and strong Wonder Woman in both of these blockbuster films was passionately loved by the audience. The movie Wonder Woman was successful beyond expectations with revenue of nearly 822 million USD. Justice League (Gal starring with Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill) did not meet expectations but still grossed 653 million USD.

Other actresses with the highest box office revenue of the year are Emma Watson with Beauty and the Beast – 1.26 billion USD; Daisy Ridley with Star Wars: The Last Jedi – 1 billion USD (to date). Both Gal Gadot, Emma Watson and Daisy Ridley are in the Top 10 highest-grossing stars. This is considered a breakthrough when more and more female actors play leading roles in blockbuster movies.

Meanwhile, Vin Diesel is the most expensive actor with revenue of 1.6 billion USD from two films, xXx: Return of Xander Cage and The Fate of the Furious. Dwayne Johnson ranked second with $1.5 billion. The next stars in the top include Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales), Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Homecoming), Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2), Chris Hemsworth (Thor: Ragnarok) and John Boyega (Star Wars: The Last Jedi).
