In case you haven’t heard, Super Bowl LIX will played in New Orleans on Sunday, February 9th, 2025.
We are going from a party city that never sleeps in Las Vegas to a party city that never sleeps in New Orleans.
On TikTok, a video seemingly shows that the script for Super Bowl 59 has already leaked out and it shows that the Cincinnati Bengals will be making their second big game appearance in four years.
On the NFC side, the Detroit Lions have been selected to head to the Super Bowl for the first time in team history.
The final score sees the Lions winning by a score of 35-31 in overtime (which doesn’t make much sense, because you can’t win by 4 in overtime).
The Lions won four NFL Championship Games between 1935 and 1957. Following the 1957 championship, the franchise did not win a playoff game until the 1991 season and did not win another until this past season.
They are the only franchise operational for the entirety of the Super Bowl era to not appear in the Super Bowl.
For the Detroit Lions, the last three years with Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell have seemed like a dream. As they enter Year 4, people are finally viewing them as legitimate Super Bowl contenders.
The Bengals, meanwhile, are also looking for their first Super Bowl title. And, while the “script” predicts that Joe Burrow will get them close, it looks like their drought will continue for the foreseeable future.
