Cam Newton appeared to get in a fight with a group of guys and he made in nd of a career change.
The former Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots quarterback appeared to get into a brawl during a 7-on-7 football tournament with a TSP crew on Sunday.
TSP stands for TopShelf Performance, which is an “18U National 7v7 Program,” the crew’s official Instagram bio reads. It is one of the teams participating in the 7-on-7 tournament.
Newton, a former league MVP with a 6-foot-5, 245-pound stature, had no problem making easy work when a group of men broke out a fight as he could be seen seemingly separating two — one with each arm — like a parent breaking up a toddler skirmish.
It is unclear if the 34-year-old was breaking up the fight or participating. Atlanta Police has not issued a statement about the altercation yet.
Now, social media users are asking whether Newton should be pursuing a career in MMA with his skills.
The quarterback, who was selected first overall by the Carolina Panthers in the 2011 NFL Draft, is a free agent who has made it known that he still wants to play in the league.
He is the NFL leader in career quarterback rushing touchdowns and second in career quarterback rushing yards. He played college football for the Auburn Tigers, where he won the Heisman Trophy and the 2011 BCS National Championship Game as a junior.
For his career, he’s thrown for 32,382 yards and 194 touchdowns while also rushing for another 5,628 yards and 75 scores.
