Jason Kelce has responded to the Dallas family who have laid public claim to the luchador mask he was seen partying all over Las Vegas with after Super Bowl 58.
While the offensive lineman plays for the Eagles, he was the biggest Chiefs fan in Sin City last week and thoroughly enjoyed himself as he helped his brother celebrate his third championship win.
Kelce went viral for his masked antics after the Chiefs beat the 49ers as he showed up in various bits of content wearing a sick luchador mask. However, it turns out the mask wasn’t his.
An 8th grader, Elijah Smith, and his family have revealed that the mask belongs to them and is a “good luck charm” that they’ve carried with them through four Chiefs Super Bowl appearances.
Jason took a photo with the kid after Sunday’s game and would somehow leave with his mask. His family has since asked for it to be returned at least before the start of next season, and the Philly star has happily obliged, taking to X to apologize for making off with it and promising to give it back.
The Smith family wasn’t upset at Jason for commandeering their property, but it was autographed by another Chiefs player at Super Bowl 57 last year, which makes it pretty valuable.
Elijah will likely get an autograph from the Eagles center too – plus he was seen wearing it, which should mean he might be able to sell it for a hefty sum in the future should he feel so inclined.
