Kelly knows something about heartbreak as she recently went through a divorce from her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock
On Wednesday, the clip of her rendition of the heartfelt ballad, captioned, “She’s just being Miley,” was posted on the talk show’s official Instagram page.
Kelly, 41, belted out the lyrics “Left my living fast somewhere in the past” and “Turns out open bars lead to broken hearts.”
The former Voice coach turned it on as she sang, “I know I used to be crazy, I know I used to be fun, You say I used to be wild.”
She seemed to be drawing from her own life experiences as she recited, “I say I used to be young.”
In the post’s comment section, one fan wrote, “Another day, another Kelly Clarkson cover that makes me cry.”
“Can these covers please go onto Spotify???” begged another.
“I swear Kelly can sing anything and make it sound amazing!!! Love her!!!, added a third.
A fourth commenter remarked, “Ok this should have been a Kelly song for sure! It didn’t catch my attention until this rendition!”
HURTFUL REMARK
Kelly knows something about heartbreak as she recently went through a nasty divorce from her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, 47.
Last week, the Since U Been Gone singer revealed some new and hurtful information as she claimed that Brandon said she wasn’t “s*xy” enough to be on The Voice.
In court documents obtained by The Post, she admitted that she wanted to be a coach on the show, but he told her the network was “looking for a more sex symbol type.”
He also said that they wanted “someone s*xy,” implying she was not.
Even though Brandon claimed she wouldn’t be a fit on the show, she became a coach on Season 14 in 2018.
She’s also become a fan favorite, and many fans want to see her come back to the competition show.
The American Idol winner also claimed that Brandon said the network “had to have someone that was black.”
Apparently, she was “too similar” to country singer Blake Shelton – who was already a coach on the show.
Kelly’s lawyer, Ed McPherson, asked how she was able to remember the conversation.
She replied: “Well, a wife doesn’t forget a time she gets told she’s not a sex symbol, so that stays.”
WHY DIVORCE?
Over a decade after she won American Idol in 2002, she tied the knot with the talent manager.
While the pair appeared to be inseparable, Kelly shocked fans when she filed for divorce in June 2020.
At the time, she said they separated due to “irreconcilable differences” and later admitted on her show that she “didn’t see” it coming.
“2020 has been a dumpster fire,” Kelly said during her show’s season premiere.
“2020 has brought a lot of change also to my personal life. Definitely didn’t see anything coming that came.
“But what I’m dealing with is hard because it involves more than just my heart. It involves a lot of little hearts.”
“You know, we have four kids and divorce is never easy, and we’re both from divorced families, so we know the best thing here is to protect our children and their little hearts.”
Their divorce was settled in March 2022, and she was ordered to pay Blackstock just over $1.3million along with $4,601 per month in child support, according to court documents obtained by The Blast.
FIT FIGURE
The 41-year-old star has been showcasing her weight loss after reportedly losing around “0 pounds in eight months”.
On Wednesday, Kelly wore a pleated leather skirt that cinched in her waist, along with a flattering gray sweater with bell sleeves.
The mother-of-two posed next to Two and a Half Men star Jon Cryer and Stranger Things actor Joe Keery.
“Today on Kelly we’re catching up with Jon Cryer and Joe Keery, a Best In Class mentor, and we’re back in the kitchen with Danielle Kartes!” Kelly captioned the photo album.
Kelly’s followers flocked to the comments to compliment her on her look.
“Kelly and leather are always a good idea” one fan wrote.
“You look good” another follower chimed in.
A third fan gushed: “I am slain by the look.”
