The 2024 Golden Globe nominations – the most important pre-Oscar award have just been announced. Leonardo DiCaprio and his two co-stars in ‘Blood Moon’ were all named alongside director Martin Scorsese.

The nominations for the 81st Golden Globes have just been announced. Barbie leads with nine nominations. Oppenheimer – the blockbuster about the father of the atomic bomb that once caused a stir in Vietnamese theaters finished second with 8 nominations.

Killers of the Flower  Moon – a film that was praised when shown in Vietnam, finished 3rd with 7 nominations – on par with Poor Things – a film with intense hot scenes that won the Golden Lion award at the Venice Film Festival 2023.

This year, the Golden Globes added a new category, Special Achievement in Cinema and Box Office, with the participation of outstanding films of the year including: Barbie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 John Wick: Chapter 4, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1, Oppenheimer, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.

Leonardo DiCaprio for his role considered the best of his career in Killers of the Flower Moon (Blood Moon) received the nomination for Best Actor in the drama genre.

His two co-stars, Robert De Niro and Lily Gladstone, are also nominated for Best Supporting Actor and Best Actress in a Drama.

Killers of the Flower Moon of course cannot be absent from the nominations for Best Picture Drama and Best Director for the legendary Martin Scorsese.

The big surprise in this year’s nomination list is the romantic film Kion Kiep (Multiple Fates), which is causing a fever in Vietnam. This work is listed in 3 important nominations: Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Non-English Film, along with famous names.

Two films, The Boy and The Heron, and Wonka, which have just been released to Vietnamese audiences, are also on the nomination list. The 2024 Golden Globe Awards ceremony will take place on July 1, 2024.
