Kelly Clarkson claims ex Brandon Blackstock ‘told her she wasn’t s*xy enough’ to be hired as The Voice coach

KELLY Clarkson has revealed some new and heartbreaking information about her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.

Kelly, 41, claimed that Brandon, 47, said she wasn’t “s*xy” enough to be on The Voice.

In court documents obtained by The Post, she admitted that she wanted to be a coach on the show, but he told her the network was “looking for a more s*x symbol type.”

He also said that they wanted “someone s*xy,” implying she was not.

Even though Brandon claimed she wouldn’t be a fit on the show, she became a coach on Season 14 in 2018.

She’s also become a fan favorite, and many fans want to see her come back to the competition show.

The American Idol winner also claimed that Brandon said the network “had to have someone that was black.”

Apparently, she was “too similar” to country singer Blake Shelton – who was already a coach on the show.

Kelly’s lawyer, Ed McPherson, asked how she was able to remember the conversation.

She replied: “Well, a wife doesn’t forget a time she gets told she’s not a s*x symbol, so that stays.”

WHY DIVORCE?

Over a decade after she won American Idol in 2002, she tied the knot with the talent manager.

While the pair appeared to be inseparable, Kelly shocked fans when she filed for divorce in June 2020.

At the time, she said they separated due to “irreconcilable differences” and later admitted on her show that she “didn’t see” it coming.

“2020 has been a dumpster fire,” Kelly said during her show’s season premiere.

“2020 has brought a lot of change also to my personal life. Definitely didn’t see anything coming that came.

“But what I’m dealing with is hard because it involves more than just my heart. It involves a lot of little hearts.”

“You know, we have four kids and divorce is never easy, and we’re both from divorced families, so we know the best thing here is to protect our children and their little hearts.”

Their divorce was settled in March 2022, and she was ordered to pay Blackstock just over $1.3million along with $4,601 per month in child support, according to court documents obtained by The Blast.

SO OVER IT

After her divorce was finalized, Kelly revealed how she got over the nasty divorce.

On an episode of the Kelly Clarkson Show, she sat down with fellow musicians The Chicks, to discuss the group’s upcoming tour.

During the interview, Kelly asked Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire, and Emily Strayer, about their songwriting craft and “how hard is [it] to write so openly and honestly while navigating [their] children?”

Emily responded: “There’s no way around it. When you write falsely it doesn’t work. You have to be real.

“The more specific you are the more it’s universal to other people.”

Kelly then stated: “We all went through divorces. How did you each find strength?

“And not just music. I think it’s therapeutic but like your female friendships. I feel like that has really helped me”.

Martie replied: “I remember when [Natalie] first came down to the studio and said ‘Guys I just want to tell you I’m getting a divorce'”

Martie continued: “I remember thinking, I’m getting a divorce, now she says she’s getting a divorce, now I can’t say I’m getting a divorce.”

Natalie chimed in: “So I’m like guys I’m getting a divorce, and Martie’s like ‘I’m having a horrible marriage.'”

The lead singer then lovingly added that they were “divorce buddies.”
