Gordon Ramsay breaks down in tears in heartbreaking scenes as he opens up about ‘devastating’ loss

COOKING legend Gordon Ramsay broke down in tears on TV in emotional scenes.

The star, 56, was paying tribute to Masterchef star Jock Zonfrillo, whose death was revealed earlier this month.

The award-winning chef, who like Gordon was born in Scotland, was found dead at a hotel in Melbourne, Australia.

Gordon was paying tribute to Jock, who once worked for him in London before he moved Down Under.

Speaking on Australian current affairs show The Project, the Kitchen Nightmares star paid an emotional tribute to the Masterchef Australia judge.

Gordon said: “The ripples have been devastating. No-one’s going to get over this quickly.

“If there’s one thing that we’ve done as chefs is we’ve united and we’re talking about the good times. So…”

He then stopped, appearing to fight back tears and taking a long pause to rub his eyes.

The star adding: “‘S***. Sorry. It’s just so painful. That’s all.”

Jock’s devastated family said earlier this month that the death, which is not being treated as suspicious, had “devastated” them.

A statement read: “With completely shattered hearts and without knowing how we can possibly move through life without him, we are devastated to share that Jock passed away yesterday.

“So many words can describe him, so many stories can be told, but at this time we’re too overwhelmed to put them into words.

“For those who crossed his path, became his mate, or were lucky enough to be his family, keep this proud Scot in your hearts when you have your next whisky.

“We implore you to please let us grieve privately as we find a way to navigate through this and find space on the other side to celebrate our irreplaceable husband, father, brother, son and friend.”

Survived by his wife Lauren and four children, Jock worked with several world-famous chefs before opening his own restaurant in Australia.
