On Sunday night, Taylor Swift braved the frigid temperatures at Highmark Stadium in Buffalo, New York, to support Travis Kelce as his team the Kansas City Chiefs faced off against the Buffalo Bills. She was wearing a cream Chiefs sweater with a red beanie at the sporting arena to keep the weather at bay. Swift was there with Kelce’s brother and sister-in-law, Jason and Kylie.
Just a day earlier, Kelce shared a Reel on Instagram joking about the freezing conditions he and his teammates have been playing in recently as the NFL team gets closer and closer to the Super Bowl in February.
“So icy gang 🥶,” he wrote in the caption for the video, which showed steam coming out of his mouth as he walked to and from practices and game appearances.
The stadium was apparently aware of Swift’s plans to show up for the night, or at least really hoping she would. Delaware North, the Buffalo Bills’ food service partner, announced some menu items honoring the Eras Tour singer for the special event. They offered attendees two new options: “Bad Blood” Waffle Fries and the “Karma” Quesadilla.
“Our culinary team has again designed a great menu for the Divisional playoff game this weekend, with several new items for fans as they cheer on the Bills,” said Andy Altomare, Delaware North’s general manager in a press release. “We had a lot of fun with this week’s menu—adding a few new options that celebrate this incredible rivalry with the Chiefs and their star-studded fans.”
It seems like everyone in the NFL and associated with the organization has something to say about the Chiefs’ “star-studded fans,” including their owner Clark Hunt. Last week, Hunt weighed in on the relationship between Swift and Kelce while appearing on Mad Money, telling host Jim Cramer that he was “happy” for the twosome.
“I’ve had a chance to meet her at one of the many games that she’s attended this year, and she’s just as sweet as she can be,” he said. “I also got to see her play here twice this past summer, and what an incredible performer. Just one of the most amazing artists of our time.”
He added, “When they were just starting off dating, there were a lot of people saying, ‘Oh, it’s a marketing stunt.’ But no, it’s very real. And as I said, the most important thing is we’re happy for the two of them.”
The only marketing stunt here is a serving of spiced waffle fries.
