Brittany Mahomes shares text Patrick sent on January 5 predicting the Chiefs would win the Super Bowl as she pays heartfelt tribute: ‘I saw so much behind the scenes I will forever be in awe of’

Patrick Mahomes ‘decided’ he would win the Super Bowl on January 5, according to a text shared by wife Brittany as she paid tribute to him on social media on Tuesday.

Mahomes texted her on January 5 saying ‘I decided we are going to win the Super Bowl’ and another on January 28, shortly after his Kansas City Chiefs beat the Baltimore Ravens, saying: ‘I’ll see y’all in Vegas I’m not done.’

Mahomes has now won three Super Bowls at the age of 28 and is already planning how to lead the team to an unprecedented ‘three-peat’ next season.

For now, as he prepares for Wednesday’s Super Bowl parade around Kansas City, his wife was singing his praises on Instagram.

‘This season was a special one!’ Brittany wrote alongside the picture. ‘This guy never stopped believing in his team… through the ups and downs and all the doubters, never once did he doubt this team,’ she said.

He is a true leader and a team player. He continued to ask himself what he could do better to lead this team to the Super Bowl.

‘I saw so much behind the scenes that I will forever be in awe of you as a person and a football player! You my guy deserved this!!! I love you and am always and forever proud of you.’

Patrick has already spoken of the opportunity in front of the Chiefs to win three straight Super Bowls – an achievement that has never been done before.

‘It’s legendary — no one’s ever done it,’ Mahomes said on Monday. ‘No one’s ever done it, and we knew it’s legendary to win back-to-back.

I think eight other teams have done it. We had heard it all week. We had talked to the guys about it, and we felt like we had the best opportunity that we had ever had to go out there and do that.

‘We’ve got to continue to play our best football. We’ll celebrate these next few weeks, and then we’ll get right back at it.’

And celebrate they will, with the Chiefs starting the Valentine’s Day Super Bowl parade starting at 11am in Kansas City.
