Taylor Swift‘s friends were left concerned in the wake of Travis Kelce‘s shock sideline meltdown at his Kansas City coach, Andy Reid, according to insiders, who claim it marked the first ‘red flag’ they had spotted since the couple started dating.
The NFL star, 34, stunned fans during Sunday’s Super Bowl game when he erupted at Andy, 65, before pushing into him after his teammate, Isiah Pacheco, fumbled a pass made by quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
He was pulled away by Jerrod McKinnon in a desperate bid to break up the heated altercation.
‘Honestly, Travis yelling at coach Reid like that was surprising and a little bit concerning to Taylor’s friends simply because they were not aware that he even had a side to him like that,’ an insider revealed to DailyMail.com exclusively.
Taylor Swift’s friends and family were less than impressed by Travis Kelce shocking sideline meltdown, according to insiders
The tight end, 34, made headlines for pushing into Kansas City Coach Andy Reid and shouting at the 65-year-old during the first quarter
The source added: ‘They understand that it’s the biggest game of the year and that there is a lot at stake – but Travis is a pro and should have handled himself with a bit more dignity than to scream at his coach like that.
‘This was his first red flag as far as Taylor’s friends are concerned and even Taylor seemed a bit surprised. Being the professional that she is, she has never flipped out on anyone like that.’
The insider explained that the outburst was made worse by the fact the singer’s entire family were there to witness it.
They continued: ‘Her family was there and all of her friends. He knew this. Travis should have been able to keep his cool better.
‘That kind of shouting would be a breaking point for some people in relationships.’
Travis’s outburst also shocked fans, with many claiming the reaction from the tight end was a ‘red flag.’
‘And just like that I’m suddenly less excited about Travis Kelce,’ one user on X said. ‘You don’t get to ape up someone all aggressive like just because you’re frustrated. Taylor, my darling, my dove, my lamb, this is a big red flag.’
‘Travis Kelce is a red flag. That aggression isn’t what Taylor needs,’ another fan wrote on social media.
Kelce erupted in anger after his teammates fumbled a pass and then body slammed his coach, causing him to momentarily lose his balance, grabbed his arm and began shouting at him
The outburst led many social media users to share their shock and concern about the behavior
Meanwhile, a source tells DailyMail.com that some of Taylor’s friends were also left concerned
‘Travis Kelce gotta do better man,’ someone else added.
‘Travis Kelce just ran up on one of the greatest coaches in NFL history and shoved him during the Super Bowl. I think that’s a story that Jim [Nantz] and Tony [Romo] have to address. This is wild,’ conservative commentator Jason Whitlock said.
After the game, Kelce told the media that his rage was down to the fact that he ‘wanted the score to be different.’
‘He’s one of the best leaders of men I’ve ever seen in my life,’ he said of Andy. ‘
And he’s helped me a lot with that, with channeling that emotion, with channeling that passion. I owe my entire career to that guy and being able to kind of control how emotional I get and just love him.’
Andy later told ESPN that Travis embraced him after the victory: ‘He came over and gave me a hug, said “Sorry about that.”
‘He just wants to be on the field and he wants to play. There’s nobody I get better than I get him… He makes me feel young.’
Although he didn’t publicly apologize for the altercation, Travis had nothing but praise for his long-term coach and dedicated their Super Bowl comeback win to him after the game

The coach did his best to down play the altercation, adding: ‘He caught me off balance. I wasn’t watching. He was really coming over [and saying], “Just put me in, I’ll score. I’ll score.” So, that’s really what it was. I love that. It’s not the first time. I appreciate him.
‘The part I love is he loves to play the game and he wants to help his team win. It’s not a selfish thing. That’s not what it is. I understand that. As much as he bumps into me, I get after him and we understand that. He just caught me off balance.’
DailyMail.com has since revealed that the tight end shouted, ‘Keep me in. You f****r! I’m calm now!’ – after lip readers decoded the pair’s viral exchange.
However, all the drama was left behind when Taylor joined the Kansas City Chiefs to toast their Super Bowl victory.
Travis and his team headed out to The Strip to party through the night after clinching three back-to-back Super Bowls, and Taylor joined them along with rapper Ice Spice, Blake Lively and Ludacris as The Chainsmokers spun the records.
And the Chiefs honored the 14-time Grammy Award winner as the DJ used some of her earliest hits to round off the evening.
One of Taylor’s famous songs from the Fearless album, Love Story, provided a romantic soundtrack for her and Travis’s celebratory smooch.
