She says one quirky move works a totally ‘different muscle group’
IF you didn’t know that global superstar Jennifer Lopez was in her fifties, you’d never in a million years guess it.
The singer, who celebrated her 54th birthday in July, not only performs like she’s decades younger, but she looks like she could be twenty years her junior too.

Now, someone close to JLo has revealed some of the secrets behind her amazing physique that she’s showcased time and time again, both on stage and off.
Kim Burse – a musical director who has previously teamed up with the hitmaker for her tours including All I Have and It’s My Party – explained: “It’s the whole spectrum.
“It’s personal wellness, physical, like she takes care of it all. She makes sure that she covers everything and she works hard, she really, really does,” Kim added to the Daily Mail.
So just how does she “take care of it all”, and what are the specifics behind Jennifer’s fitness regime?
The mum-of-two is known for having a love of fitness, and has been open about how she feels her strict training regime benefits her life.
Jennifer said earlier this year: “It’s no secret that fitness is a very important part of my life.
“I think there’s a positive correlation between exercise and mental health.
“When you find a good balance through determination and focus, we’re naturally pushing to be the best version of ourselves.”
According to a trainer she has worked with called Dodd Romero, the mum-of-two – who is married to actor Ben Affleck – puts in a serious shift when she’s working out, whether at the gym or at home.
He previously told Oprah Magazine that Jennifer trains for approximately one hour four to five times a week, choosing a different body part to focus on each time.
And JLo reportedly likes to work three particular muscle groups, dubbed “the three Bs” by Women’s Health Magazine – biceps, back and (that very famous) booty.
She’s also been known to throw herself into many different types of workouts, including dancing, cross training, lifting weights, and intense ab circuits.
This core workout is said to include 50 hanging ab raises, 50 rope crunches, and 50 incline sit ups with a 45-pound plate.
She then moves on to repeat the set, but with 35 reps, before decreasing once more to 21.
But Jennifer also has one more surprising exercise she falls back on when all else fails.
After landing a role in 2019 movie Hustlers, as well as the Super Bowl Halftime show in 2020, Jennifer fell in love with using a pole in her workouts.
For the Super Bowl specifically, she trained for four months’ straight with Johanna Sapakie, a dancer and choreographer in aerial acrobatics.

And Jennifer said she was an instant convert, as she said she enjoyed that it worked “a different muscle group.”
Opening up about the benefits of the full-body workout, and how it keeps your whole body supple, trainer Johanna told Women’s Health: “Everything is working in unison to create the movement.
“If your body works as a total package, you’re much more likely to be successful than if you rely on just one muscle group.
“If you have a really strong core, your core will help support the rest of your body, so your arms will simply have to do less work.”
And the pair often clocked up to a lot of hours, as Johanna added: “Without even going to the gym, our bodies were banging because we were doing the activity for 12 hours a day.”
As well as following a strict regime and eating a healthy diet, there’s one final thing that Jennifer does to keep her enviable body – and this is something we can all get on board with.
One of the trainers J. Lo has previously worked with revealed that it might be boring and simple but that the power of sleep is seriously underrated.
Celebrity trainer David Kirsch revealed: “Jennifer is meticulous about her eating, sleeping and generally about everything in her life.
“It’s not just a physical thing – it’s about transforming every aspect of your life.”
Kirsch, who is based in New York, continued to Vogue: “The common denominator is always sleep. Resting and restoring is so important for your recovery and overall wellness.”
