What Taylor Swift told Chiefs star Mecole Hardman after watching him score the winning touchdown in the Super Bowl

Popstar Taylor Swift was one of the many who congratulated Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman after scoring the game-winning touchdown at Super Bowl LVIII.

Sunday’s game in Las Vegas went down to the dying seconds of an overtime period. With the San Francisco 49ers up, 22-19, Patrick Mahomes found Harman on the right flank to secure their second straight title.

After the game, Hardman shared a moment with the 14-time Grammy winner as they celebrated with Travis Kelce and the rest of the team. Swift and Harman shared an embrace as Swift expressed her joy for the former Georgia Bulldog.

‘Absolutely, absolutely,’ Swift said after the hug. ‘So happy for you guys.’

The two continued to talk as the celebrations went on. While cameras could not pick up much of the conversation, Swift appeared to describe the game-winning play as Hardman did not hold back his smile.

After getting drafted by the Chiefs in 2019, Hardman joins the likes of Kelce and Mahomes as members of Kansas City’s three title-winning rosters in the past five years.

Hardman made a quick detour to the New York Jets to begin the season before getting re-acquired by the Chiefs in October in exchange for a 2025 draft pick.

Despite tallying zero touchdowns with his 124 yards in 2023, Hardman stepped up in the Super Bowl by catching all three targets for 57 yards and the final touchdown. Following the game, Hardman admitted that he ‘blacked-out’ after scoring the game-winner.

‘I don’t remember none of it,’ Hardman told Today with a laugh. ‘Like, literally. When I caught the pass, I blacked out for a second. I guess the magnitude of the moment just got to me.

‘All I can remember is after I caught it, I just seen Pat running to me like ‘You’re a champion.’ I’m like ‘Oh we won, bet,’ and then I started celebrating.’
