Opening up about the funny incident, Lawrence recalled how her nephew didn’t consider her Mystique a mutant. Unimpressed with her credibility, her nephew didn’t believe she was a real X-Men.

After appearing in the fantasy franchise The Hunger Games, Jennifer Lawrence took on a renowned role in another acclaimed franchise. Bringing a superhero to life, Lawrence took on the role of Mystique in the X-Men movies. Appearing for an entire trilogy, her character even led the group in X-Men: Apocalypse.

But unfortunately, it wasn’t enough for the actress to prove her credibility to an X-Men superfan. That certain fan is none other than Jennifer Lawrence‘s nephew. Being a diehard X-Men fan, he seemed entirely unimpressed with the fact that Lawrence plays the cinematic version of the mutant shapeshifter.

Thus, appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the actress spoke about her nephew’s disregard for her character before playing about a video of him being visibly annoyed. In the video, as Lawrence brought up the discussion about her X-Men character, during a car ride, her nephew seemed totally pissed.

Jennifer Lawrence’s Nephew Doesn’t Believe She’s a Real X-Men 

Jimmy Fallon brought up the topic when Jennifer Lawrence appeared on his talk show and asked her about her nephew’s obsession with X-Men. To which Lawrence immediately admitted, “my 4-year-old nephew Bear, he’s obsessed with X-Men”. Then the actress revealed how she tried to convince her nephew into believing that she’s an X-Men.

Further, playing the video footage from the car ride, Jimmy Fallon showed the audience how Jennifer Lawrence’s nephew denies his aunt’s appearance as Mystique. Before playing the video, Lawrence informed the audience, “this is like a mild version of what he does,”. In the video, Lawrence is heard telling Bear to acknowledge her role as Mystique, and her nephew is seen smirking.

When I was on the phone with the producer for this, I was telling the story and she heard Bear go ‘pfft’ as soon as I said ‘X-Men.’…He hates it, he doesn’t like my work.”

Claiming how he’s not a fan of Jennifer Lawrence’s work, the actress shared that her nephew was in the last Hunger Games sequel and almost didn’t want to be in the film.
