According to Austin, Tommy’s son, his father had a significant moment during that ill-fated flight. “Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper were all onboard, and my dad actually flipped a coin with Ritchie Valens for the last seat on the plane,” he explained.
Reflecting on the incident, Tommy, who is now 84, admitted that it still lingers on his mind every single day. Despite the near-death experience, Tommy’s love for music has never waned, and he has had the privilege of collaborating with the legendary Willie Nelson and other renowned artists.
Proudly, Austin revealed that his father continues to tour and perform to this very day.

Unfortunately, Samantha’s performance failed to impress the judges as none of them turned their chairs. Miley gracefully expressed her opinion, mentioning that Samantha’s nervousness may have affected her energy on stage.

Following her captivating rendition of “New York State of Mind,” the 16-year-old Halle made an instant connection with Alicia Keys who chose her to be part of her team.
Alicia praised Halle’s performance, describing it as smooth, effortless, and full of grace.
