Selena Gomez took the decision to quit Instagram in 2018 due to THIS reason.
Speaking to Fast Company over her decision to quit Instagram then, Selena recalled, “had just gotten my heart broken. I didn’t need to see what everyone was doing. Then there were those moments of not feeling positive about how I looked because of what I’d see on Instagram. Wow, I wish my body looked like that.”
The actress from “Wizards of Waverly Place” also opened up about her struggles with body image as she transitioned from her teenage years. She described how it was challenging to witness her body changing and feeling uncomfortable when standard clothing sizes no longer fit. She also addressed the unrealistic expectations placed on women, saying, “How realistic is it to expect a woman’s body not to change?”
In addition to her breakup with Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez also revealed that she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder around the same time in 2018. She publicly discussed her diagnosis in 2020 on Miley Cyrus’ Instagram Live show, “Bright Minded.” She explained how growing up as a people pleaser and having early responsibilities made her unsure of her own identity, leading her to walk on eggshells frequently.
Currently, Justin Bieber is married to Hailey Baldwin, daughter of Stephen Baldwin, while Selena Gomez has publicly confirmed that she is happily single and embracing life on her own terms.
Recently, Selena Gomez gave her fans a glimpse into the office space of her beauty brand, Rare Beauty, which she launched in September
2020. The brand continues to empower individuals to embrace their uniqueness by introducing new products. Selena Gomez also surprised her fans with a new song titled “Single Soon” on August 25, 2023. She is set to star in the upcoming thriller film “Spiral,” directed by Petra Collins.
