Singing sensation Ariana Grande apparently has a new boyfriend – her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater.

But Slater’s estranged wife Lilly Jay is reportedly “devastated” by the alleged romance.

TMZ has reported that Jay – who has an 11-month-old child with Slater – feels her family has been “torn apart” and is “upset” their young son won’t have his mother and father around all the time now they have split.

Sources told the publication that Jay felt “betrayed and heartbroken” over Slater’s supposed new relationship and she felt like he had “turned his back on his family”.

However, sources told Page Six that the claims Slater had abandoned his family were “completely untrue”.

Slater and Jay were high school sweethearts, marrying in 2018 and welcoming their first child in August 2022.

Previously, separate sources had told Page Six that Jay had been “blindsided” by Grande and Slater’s relationship.

“It’s horrible. They were high school sweethearts. They have a baby! She’s a wreck,” the source said.
Neither Grande nor Slater has addressed or acknowledged the rumoured relationship – which first came to the public’s attention earlier in July.

When the rumour first surfaced, Slater made his Instagram account, which has more than 84,000 followers including Grande, private.

Earlier, it had emerged that Grande and her real estate agent husband of two years, Dalton Gomez, had separated in January and were “headed for divorce”.

“Ariana and Dalton tried to make things work, but ultimately they were just not a good fit,” a source told Entertainment Tonight.

“Dalton has been very private and low-key about their relationship with his work colleagues and hasn’t been talking a lot about their split.

“Ariana and Dalton’s friends have always been concerned by their whirlwind romance and felt their relationship would ultimately be short-lived.

“Their relationship has been rocky at different points, and they’ve had trouble making time for each other with scheduling issues.”

It’s unclear how long Grande and Slater may have been dating.

But in May, Slater posted to his now-private Instagram account, wishing Jay a happy first Mother’s Day from him and their son.

“Happy first Mother’s Day to the most loving caring and wonderful mom/person in the world,’ he wrote on May 14, signing it “from me and this little guy”.

The photo, which showed a reflection of their young son, was liked by Grande, Daily Mail reported.
