VTV.vn – Singer The Weeknd has revealed new music associated with the soundtrack for James Cameron’s highly anticipated sequel – “Avatar: The Way of Water”.
On Sunday morning, the Canadian singer uploaded a short clip showing the film’s logo and its release date of December 16. With this short clip, listeners can hear a choir, played by backed by a booming drum beat — reminiscent of James Horner’s epic score from the previous Avatar film.
In response, the film’s official account also retweeted the post and uploaded a clip of the account following the Weeknd on Twitter. Jon Landau, the film’s producer, followed suit, posting a clip of the two along with the caption: “When the Na’vi (the film’s fictional language) say ‘Zola’u nìprrte’ soaiane Avatar “… Welcome to the movie. The Avatar Family!”.
It remains unclear the extent of the Weeknd’s involvement in the film or soundtrack. Representatives for the Weeknd and Disney also did not immediately respond to Variety’s request for comment on the matter.
“Avatar: The Way of Water” is expected to gross at least $150 million in North America when it opens next week. Early tracking suggests the opening weekend could go even higher, reaching $175 million or more.

The first “Avatar” film is currently the highest-grossing film in global box office history ($2.74 billion in ticket sales), not adjusted for inflation.
According to behind-the-scenes information, reports have claimed that the production budget for the film alone reached $250 million.
