PATRICK Mahomes had kind words for his opponent after his most recent win.
After the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Miami Dolphins 21-14 in Germany, Mahomes was caught on a hot mic speaking to the opposing quarterback.
Tua Tagovailoa, who took some heat for a sequence of plays that stalled what could have been a game-tying drive, received nothing but kind words from Mahomes.
“Hell of a year. Stay healthy brother,” Mahomes said.
“Health to the family, too. Congrats.”
Tagovailoa returned similar sentiments to Mahomes.
“Thank you, brother. Appreciate it,” Tagovailoa said.
“Congrats to your family as well.”
Mahomes and Tagovailoa are both enjoying very strong 2023 campaigns but struggled in their matchup in Germany. Neither quarterback eclipsed 200 yards in the game.
So far in 2023, Mahomes has passed for 2,442 yards with 17 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
Tagovailoa has passed for 2,609 yards with 19 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
Both QBs are on pace to break 4,500 yards passing and 30 touchdowns for the season.
After the matchup, the Chiefs improved to 7-2 on the season while the Dolphins fell to 6-3. Their record against teams above .500 also fell to 0-3.
There is no worry for Dolphins fans though, as the team won’t face off against another above-.500 team until week 16 against the Dallas Cowboys.
Despite their poor record against winning teams, the Dolphins still hold the No. 4 seed in the AFC playoff race.
The Chiefs hold the No. 1 seed currently.
