As the NFL regular season reaches its climax stage, the talk for MVP is also heating up. The clear favorite in many people’s eyes, Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, has been overtaken. That too by none other than the Philadelphia Eagles’ No. 1 Jalen Hurts. And multiple signs back Hurts as a potential MVP as well.

With only a few more games to go, the playoff picture is clearing up a bit. And with it, the potential candidates for NFL MVP are becoming more obvious. Even though Mahomes leads Hurts in terms of individual records. Such as 21 to 18 TDs and 2,917 yards to 2,697 yards. Hurts has proven to be far more valuable to his team, exemplified by his performance against the Buffalo Bills.

The only loss that the Eagles suffered this season was also the game when Hurts wasn’t on the field. And hence his numbers don’t tell the full story. The 25-year-old has shown remarkable poise, leadership, and clutch ability. Guiding the Eagles to four fourth-quarter comebacks and five game-winning drives.

Worth mentioning is also the fact that Hurts has shared the gridiron with some of the best teams in the NFL, and has outplayed several great QBs as well. Amongst them are Tua Tagovailoa (Miami Dolphins), Dak Prescott (Dallas Cowboys), Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs), Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills) and many more. That might be one of the reasons he is the betting favorite as well.

Jalen Hurts is leading the MVP hopefuls pack

After defeating Mahomes in Week 11, Hurts defeated Allen as well in an overtime thriller. These performances against the best in the business have made him top the charts for betting lines as well. Oddsmakers, it seems, are putting all their eggs in the Hurts basket.

Ranging from +250 to +200 on several betting lines. One thing is clear, he is the favorite now. Overtaking last year’s MVP Mahomes and leading Lamar Jackson as well. The only thing Hurts needs is for the Eagles to keep winning and for him to outplay the opposition.

The Eagles take on the domineering San Francisco 49ers next at home. And if Hurts’ form is to go by, it will be a long night for the 49ers’ defense. Who do you think should clinch the MVP title? Let us know in the comments.
