New Delhi: ‘Toxic’ starring ‘KGF’ fame Yash has been in the news for quite some time. Earlier, it was reported that Kareena Kapooor and Kiara Advani had been roped in for the Yash starrer. While there has been much speculation about the female leads, it now seems there are reports of Nayanthara replacing Kareena Kapoor as the lead in ‘Toxic’.
Kareena Kapoor, Nayanthara part of Toxic film
As per a Pinkvilla report, Nayanthara has replaced Kareena Kapoor for the role. Director Geethu Mohandas is in talks with Nayanthara for the role and the two seem to have had multiple meetings for the movie.
“Nayanthara has shown her interest in doing Toxic and the logistics are being figured out at this point in time. It’s a well-sketched character of a sister and suits her image of a strong woman. Nayanthara is impressed that Geethu Mohandas has written such a strong character for a female and she is connecting well with her vision,” the Pinkvilla report quoted a source as saying.
”The talks are on, and the team is working collectively to get the logistics in place. If everything goes well, the makers will have Nayanthara on board in a fortnight,” the source added.
Kareena Kapoor walks out of Yash starrer-Toxic
Earlier there were reports that Kareena Kapoor had quit the film. As per a Pinkvilla report, Kareena walked out of the film citing date issues. “Toxic has a strong sibling emotion, and the part of the sister is very crucial to the narrative, warranting the presence of a top star. The makers are looking to cast actresses with Pan India presence for the part,” Pinkvilla then quoted a media portal.
For those waiting for more information on ‘Toxic’, a motion poster of the film was released in December last year. In the poster, Yash was seen wearing a cowbody hat on his head, holding a cigarette in his mouth and a gun. Although his face was not clearly visible, it seems the makers did it on purpose to not reveal Yash’s look from the film.
