The girls Baddie Gi and Jade accused Cardi of ordering an attack on them at the strip club where they work – Cardi has denied the claims – and briefly appear alongside Nicki in the clip for her song Good Form.
The casting decision is no doubt set to reheat tensions between Nicki and Bodak Yellow hit-maker Cardi, with the relationship between the two rappers becoming strained following an altercation at New York Fashion Week in September.
Nicki teased the appearance of Baddie Gi and Jade in her video on Instagram, as she shared a shot of herself posing with the bartenders and other dancers – with all girls sporting very scanty outfits.
She tagged the duo in her caption and was seen leaving emojis blowing a kiss and hearts underneath photos Baddie Gi and Jade shared to their own accounts on the social media platform.
Jade thanked Nicki for having her on set, as she told followers: ‘This is SOOO CRAZY YALL!!!’
In the video, the girls are seen twerking alongside Nicki while clad in PVC leather and a mesh leotard.
Nicki’s decision to have Baddie Gi and Jade in her video will no doubt leave a sour taste in Cardi’s mouth, as reports claim the duo are preparing to sue Cardi over an attack that occurred at Angels Strip Club in New York.
The girls accused Cardi of arranging the attack, claiming the star ‘threatened them with physical harm’ back in June in an Atlanta hotel where Cardi accused Jade of sleeping with her husband Offset.
TMZ reported that the sisters were pelted with chairs and bottles during the incident, with Cardi ‘throwing at lease one of the bottles’. The publication claimed: ‘[Five] people associated with Cardi viciously attacked [Jade], grabbing her hair, punching her and hitting her with an ashtray.’
Cardi, however, has vehemently denied the accusations. TMZ reports that Cardi claims the girls are just trying to ‘get famous’ and that she says she not only ‘didn’t order any beatdown, she wasn’t involved at all…and definitely didn’t throw a bottle at them’.
Sources close to the Bodak Yellow hitmaker and her Migos star husband say the rumors of him cheating on her with Jade are not true, with the couple branding the bartenders ‘clout chasers’.
Fans will no doubt question whether Nicki’s inclusion of Jade and Baddie Gi in her video is a way of her throwing shade at Cardi – as tensions have been fraught between the two rappers for months now.
Rumours of a rift between the pair first surfaced following Cardi’s success with hit Bodak Yellow, and she and Nicki have often found themselves compared with one another and whether their lyrics were making digs at each other.
Both stars initially insisted there was no feud between them and both appeared on Migos track Motor Sport – although, they were then hit with claims that their verses on the shared single were hitting out at each other.
Cardi was seen venting about ‘idols becoming her rivals’ in a rant on social media, with fans certain it had been in reference to Nicki, and she was later seen calling out a mystery woman for being ‘fake’ – again, believed to be Nicki – on stage during a performance in New York in August 2017.
Tensions then appeared to boil over between the pair at the ICONS party hosted by Harper’s Bazaar in September at New York Fashion Week, where Cardi was escorted out of the bash after throwing a shoe at Nicki and her entourage.
Cardi – whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar – had a golf ball-sized lump on her head and wasn’t wearing shoes when security guards escorted her out, with witnesses reporting that Cardi B ‘aggressively approached’ [Nicki’s] table and told the Pinkprint rapper: ‘Let me tell you something,’ intending to ‘address the lies Nicki was spreading’.
Security guards managed to block the new mom as she appeared to lunge at Nicki before unsuccessfully launching a shoe at her head. Police were reportedly called on Cardi.
It was claimed the altercation came after Nicki was seen liking social media posts that ‘questioned Cardi’s abilities as a mother’. Cardi seemed to suggest this was so, as she later released a profanity-laden statement vaguely explaining her actions.
In her Instagram post, Cardi B wrote: ‘I’ve let a lot of s**t slide! I let you sneak diss me, I let you lie on me, I let you attempt to stop my bags, f**k up the way I eat!
‘You’ve threaten (sic) other artists in the industry, told them if they work with me you’ll stop f**kin with them!! I let you talk bit s**t about me!! I addressed you a second time in person, and every time you copped the plea!!
‘But when you mention my child, you choose to like comments about me as a mother, make comments about my abilities to take care of my daughter is when all bets are f**kin off! I’ve worked to (sic) hard and come too far to let anybody f**k with my success!!!!
‘B***hes talk all that sh*t in they raps but in real life they p***y. This sh*t really is for entertainment.’
Cardi is mother to daughter Kulture, four months, whom she shares with husband Offset.
A source told Page Six: ‘It was bad. They were separated by security, but Cardi was still trying to get at her. She took off a giant red shoe and threw it at Nicki — who was being blocked up against a wall by huge security guard.’
Since then, the superstars clashed after Nicki accused Cardi of making sure her husband Offset and fellow rapper 21 Savage’s wouldn’t record with her, while Cardi’s sister accused Minaj of leaking Cardi’s phone number.
Although, both Minaj and Cardi B appeared to call a truce at the end of October. Nicki had tweeted: ‘Ok you guys, let’s focus on positive things only from here on out. We’re all so blessed.
‘I know this stuff is entertaining and funny to a lot of people but I won’t be discussing this nonsense anymore. Thank you for the support and encouragement year after year.’
Cardi shared a screenshot of Nicki’s tweet to her Instagram page and added the caption: ‘@Nickiminaj alright then! Let’s keep it positive and keep it pushing!’
Meanwhile, Cardi is set to make history again as she has been listed as the first featured female performer at the upcoming 2019 AVN Awards.
The AVN’s, dubbed ‘the Oscars of p.o.r.n’, are an annual awards ceremony honoring stars in the adult film industry.
AVN president Tony Rios announced, ‘We are beyond thrilled to be welcoming Cardi B to perform at the 2019 AVN Awards. For the first time in more than three decades, we will have an all-female cast — our co-hosts, our comedian and our musical guest.’
Thrilled with the honour, Cardi said in a statement: ‘I’m so excited that the AVN Awards chose me to be their first female performer ever. I can’t wait!’
At the show, the hip-hop star will reportedly be able to ‘go to town’ at the nearby AVN Novelty Expo, ‘which features s*x workshops, seminars and lots of fun products to try out’, sources close to the AVNs told The Blast.
In addition to performing at adult entertainment showcase, Cardi is celebrating another milestone. She has landed the cover of Entertainment Weekly as well as the subject of their cover story for their Entertainers of the Year issue.
‘I’m looking forward to doing anything and everything that I could possibly take on,’ Cardi told the outlet.
She added that she’s started a vision board of future goals though, it’s hard to imagine what the Bronx native may want to do next.
Since bursting on the scene in 2017, her rise to the top has been nothing short of meteoric. She’s shattered records time and again on the charts, co-hosted The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, debuted her baby bump on SNL and just launched a fashion collaboration with her go-to retailer, FashionNova.
‘The only thing that’ll stop me right now is time,’ she told EW.
Cardi’s performance at the 2019 AVN Awards will be on January 26 in Las Vegas.
