Kanye Responds to Swifties’ Campaign to Push Beyoncé Over Ye and Ty Dolla Sign on Charts: ‘Remember I Was on Taylor’s Side’ (H)

“I’m sure I’ve been far more helpful to Taylor Swift’s career than harmful,” Ye wrote in a new post.

Kanye West addressed a number of topics in a lengthy Instagram post on Wednesday.

Ye shared a screenshot of a social media post from a Taylor Swift fan urging the pop star’s devotees to buy and stream Beyoncé’s latest single “Texas Hold ‘Em” to put it at No. 1 over anything from Kanye and Ty Dolla Sign’s Vultures 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The user’s rallying cry concludes, “REMEMBER he just DRAGGED Taylor on his latest Instagram Story.”

“When I said that I’m the new Jesus bitch I wasn’t even thinking about Taylor Swift,” Kanye wrote in all caps. “That was a whole line before but I appreciate the free promo.” Ye attempted to take neutral ground with fans of Taylor, saying he is neither their enemy or friend.

West claims he was supportive of the singer after Scooter Braun acquired her catalog, believes he has “been far more helpful to Taylor Swift’s career than harmful,” and admits “she and Beyoncé are big inspirations to all musicians.”

He also promised that Lil Wayne “actually mentions Travis Kelsey [sic] on Vultures 2,” which is scheduled to hit in March.

Kanye provided a bit more context to Brandon Marshall’s “completely fabricated rumor” that Swift had the rapper kicked out of a suite near her at Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas on Sunday. After his rep said Marshall’s claim was simply “not true,” Ye explained he and his wife Bianca Censori chose to walk around the stadium since it was her first time at a Super Bowl.

They ultimately went to Vultures contributor YG’s suite to “see different friends,” with West adding, “We had such a fun day.”

After catching some flak from Shaq, Kanye also said he “would love to hang” at some point with O’Neal and his business partner Jamie Salter, whom West considers to be a father figure. Shaq claimed Ye saw him during the Super Bowl, but the two never interacted.
