Britney Spears will ‘never’ reconcile with her estranged father Jamie, even in the wake of his ailing health and leg amputation, as she refuses to forgive the man who ‘hurt her’ in ways that are ‘not imaginable.’
The singer, 42, appeared to hint at a possible reunion after she shared a series of throwback photos on Instagram with her sons Sean and Jayden – including one with her estranged father, 71, who controlled her 13-year conservatorship until its termination in November 2021.
But a source close to the singer has shut down any talk of an attempt to heal their fractured relationship – and confirmed the singer is forging on with the legal battle against her father.
‘There is no chance, ever, that Britney will reconcile with her dad,’ the insider told DailyMail.com exclusively. ‘He hurt her in ways not imaginable and, regardless of what happens to his health, she will never forgive the man, dead or alive.

Speculation of a reunion between Britney and her father arose after she posted this photo from 2008 of her father and one of her sons on Instagram
‘The only reason that Britney included this photo is that she loved the picture with her son. It had nothing to do with her dad, or his health issues.’
The photo featuring Jamie was taken in Los Angeles in 2008 – the year she was forced into her conservatorship – and shows him walking with Britney and one of his grandsons.
Britney detailed the ‘abuse’ she suffered at the hands of her ‘alcoholic’ father for years in her recent memoir The Woman in Me, claiming he had her every move monitored and saw her as nothing more than the family’s ‘cash flow.’
She also claimed that her father threatened her with court if she didn’t agree to another stint in rehab in 2018, and said she would look like an ‘idiot’ if she refused.
In her book, Britney detailed multiple instances in which she was allegedly abused by her father.
In court documents, former special agent Sherine Ebadi accused Jamie of financial mismanagement, diversion of resources and other abuses. He was alleged to have paid himself $6 million during the conservatorship.
The estranged duo are currently embroiled in a legal dispute, with a trial date set for May, after Britney’s attorney Mathew Rosengart rejected Jamie’s request for his daughter to pay the legal fees Jamie incurred in connection with the controversial conservatorship.
In court documents filed by Rosengart, who was instrumental in setting the star free, Jamie was referred to as an ‘alcoholic and gambling addict.’
The source said: ‘The legal case against Jamie is forging ahead as planned.’
There are growing fears for Jamie’s health after it was recently revealed that he had a leg amputated in October, while he was living with his youngest daughter Jamie Lynn Spears, 32, at her newly built home in Louisiana.

Britney took aim at her father in her recent memoir, claiming she felt he saw her as nothing but ‘cash flow’ for their family
According to TMZ, he had ‘a massive infection in one of his legs that landed him in a hospital for weeks.’
A source told the publication: ‘He had five unsuccessful surgeries to contain the infection, and doctors decided the only way to proceed was amputation.’
Jamie took complete control over Britney’s life in 2008 when he became her conservator following a mental breakdown at her home on Mulholland Drive in Beverly Hills, California.
In 2013, under the care of her father, Britney began her first residency, Piece of Me, in Sin City. It ran for four years, becoming one of the most lucrative residencies in Las Vegas history.
The Toxic singer cancelled her second residency in Las Vegas – Domination – to care for her father.
‘I am dedicating my focus and energy to care for my family. We have a very special relationship and I want to be with my family at this time just like they have always been there for me,’ she wrote at the time.
‘It’s important to always put your family first… and that’s the decision I had to make.’
But, in a court deposition in 2021, Britney alleged that Jamie forced her to say she was pulling the plug on Domination to care for him as she detailed the horrific abuse that she was forced to endure.

In an interview with Mail On Sunday last year, Jamie justified the conservatorship, stating: ‘I don’t know if she’d be alive.’ Pictured in 2006
Britney told the court that her father had her admitted to a mental health facility against her will as retaliation for voicing opinions during dress rehearsals about cancelling the residency.
Britney stated she ‘didn’t want to ever go there,’ referring to the mental health facility, which saw her undergo extreme treatment methods generally used on those with severe mental health issues.
‘I remember calling my dad on the phone crying, and he said “You have to listen to the doctors. I can’t help you now,'” she told the court.
The pop princess also claimed that her father told her that – if she ever challenged the treatment option he chose – she would lose the battle.
‘Now you don’t have to go, but if you don’t go, we’re going to go to trial and you’re going to lose,’ Britney claimed her father told her at the time.
Jamie opened up about Britney during an interview with The Mail on Sunday last year, claiming he did not think she would be alive if she hadn’t been placed in a conservatorship.
‘Not everybody’s going to agree with me,’ he said. ‘It’s been one hell of a time. But I love my daughter with all my heart and soul. Where would Britney be right now without that conservatorship? And I don’t know if she’d be alive. I don’t.
‘For protecting her, and also protecting the kids, conservatorship was a great tool. Without it, I don’t think she would have got the kids back.’
Britney gets down on the floor while dancing with Cade on 42nd
In her recent memoir The Woman In Me, Britney wrote that she believed that her father was trying to ‘kill’ her so that he could get permanent control over her estate
Talk of a reconciliation with her father also came days after Britney reunited with her mother, Lynne, 68, who flew from Louisiana to Los Angeles to celebrate her daughter’s 42nd birthday last weekend.
The estranged pair ‘finally healed their wounds’ after Lynne reportedly ‘apologized’ to her daughter instead of trying to ‘negate’ her feelings upon the release of her memoir.
‘It was the book,’ a source exclusively told DailyMail.com about how their reunion came to fruition. ‘Britney was able to get her feelings out and Lynne didn’t try to negate those feelings.
‘Lynne took ownership and she apologized. This was a huge turning point.
‘Britney is now reunited with those who mean the most to her in her family… They have finally healed their wounds and are looking forward to the future with positivity.’
They continued: ‘This was a group effort from her inner circle including Cade, her brother, close friends and, of course Britney and Lynne.
‘They both were ready for this and Britney wanted this. This was not a surprise on Britney in any way.
‘Everyone had a blast and there was lots of dancing and laughing. Most importantly, Britney and Lynne were able to spend some deep and meaningful time together.’
Britney shared the photo with her father just days after reconciling with her mother Lynne Spears, 68, who flew to LA for Britney’s 42nd birthday last weekend

‘It’s wonderful’: Lynne Spears on reuniting with Britney
Pictures showed Lynne appearing to stroke her daughter’s hair as they cuddled up together on a sofa.
Their reunion comes six months after Lynne flew out to LA to meet with Britney. The two spent several hours talking, but their reconciliation appeared to be short-lived.
When Britney’s now estranged husband Sam Asghari, 29, filed for divorce from the singer in August, Lynne was nowhere to be seen and did not rush LA to comfort her.
Their feud began after the pop star claimed Lynne failed to help free her of the conservatorship.
In 2022 Britney claimed that her mother was the driving force behind her father.
‘A woman introduced the idea to my dad, and my mom actually helped him follow through and made it all happen,’ Britney said in a since-deleted video on YouTube.
‘It was all basically set up. There were no drugs in my system. No alcohol. No nothing. It was pure abuse.’
In her memoir she revealed she felt as though her family were trying to ‘kill’ her when she returned home after a stint in rehab.
‘It crossed my mind that they were only visiting to finish off what they’d started a few months earlier, to kill me for real,’ she wrote.
‘If that sounds paranoid, consider all the things I’d been through up until this point — the ways in which they had deceived and institutionalized me.’
