Katrina Kaif Opens Up About Turning Down a Hollywood Offer: “I Believe…”

In a recent interview, Bollywood star Katrina Kaif opened up about her career and her thoughts on venturing into Hollywood, revealing the reasons why she has not pursued opportunities in the Western film industry, unlike her contemporaries Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, and Alia Bhatt.

Bollywood vs. Hollywood

Katrina Kaif is known for her significant contributions to Bollywood, and despite receiving Hollywood offers, she has not made the jump to Western cinema. Katrina explained, “I do believe it will happen, and I think it will be a whole new leaf in my book, so to speak, and really exciting.” She emphasized that while she does have plans for Hollywood, she is not in a rush to make the transition. Katrina wants to ensure that the timing and the project are perfect before making such a significant career move.

During a recent interaction with Variety, the actor retraced her film journey. She told the international publication that she believes her first foray was in a Telugu film, the 2004 romcom Malliswari, in which she plays the title role of a wealthy heiress. After that, Katrina began gaining experience in front of the camera and gradually met directors and producers. She felt like she had accomplished her goal in the modelling world; she had grasped the scenario. The actor had accomplished some of her objectives, and her emotions and desires were in the movies, too.

Katrina’s early career highlights include Welcome, Singh Is King, and Namastey London. She claims that the 2009 thriller New York marked a turning point in his career. In addition to Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, the actor’s notable works from that period include Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and the political drama.

Instead of calling them films, Katrina would describe them as personal moments; a whole range of feelings and emotions encircled them. At that moment, the film would consume her completely; it wasn’t simply about playing a role and then going home. She would spend the rest of her life immersed in that film, that team, that scene, and that setting. Eventually, the film would end, and she would feel a pang of loss and emptiness. Following that, one would move on to the next one; therefore, as an actor and performer, these are all amazing moments for Katrina.
