The Cleveland Browns are cleaning house.

The Browns are reportedly making some big changes to their offensive coaching staff in the wake of their playoff loss to the Houston Texans. The Browns have started their offensive overhaul by firing offensive staffers.

Josina Anderson of CBS Sports reports that they have fired offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt, running backs coach Stump Mitchell, and tight ends coach T.C. McCartney.

The three assistants have been with Stefanski since he took the Browns job in 2020. The Browns finished 16th overall on offense, 12th in rushing, and 19th in passing.

Stefanski, a leading candidate for NFL Coach of the Year, led the Browns to an 11-6 record and a wild card berth in the playoffs despite the team having to use a club record four different starting quarterbacks.

With Deshaun Watson out for the season and recovering from surgery to repair a broken glenoid bone in his right throwing shoulder, Joe Flacco led the Browns to a 4-0 record and a Wild card playoff game.

His first bad game came at the wrong time as he tossed two pick-sixes that put the game out of reach for a team that had blown out the Texans in the regular season.
