The notable French luxury brand released a statement announcing they have signed Wembanyama as their newest ambassador.
“Striving for excellence and with a perpetual honing of craft, Victor joins Louis Vuitton on a journey of shared values and aligned ambitions.
“Like Louis Vuitton himself, the young athlete has blazed a trail, excelling in a career that is only just beginning,’ the brand said in a press release.
Wembanyama grew up in France and played two seasons for the Paris-based Metropolitans 92 before being drafted No.1 overall by the Spurs in the 2023 NBA draft.
In an interview with GQ, the NBA star expressed that this decision was made because he felt it was with the “best partner” for him.
“To me, it’s the best. It’s the best partner I can think of.
“I wanted a meaningful partnership. To me, it made a lot of sense to partner with LV—you know, French excellence.
“The expertise is something that I feel very much attracted to. I mean, back in the day, I couldn’t even imagine partnering with LV one day.
