Taylor Swift‘s second cousin has publicly tried to take credit for the singer’s relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

The second cousin is called Danny Frye III and he spoke to FloRacing on TikTok to explain why he is actually the man to thank for what was one of the biggest celebrity dating stories of 2023.

“[I] made a love connection between her and Travis Kelce,” he said.

He refused to offer much detail as to how close he is with Swift, as being someone’s second cousin does not always mean that you really know them very well.

There must be some closeness there, though, because he seems set be attending some Chiefs games alongside Swift to see Kelce in action.

“[The] funny thing is, a lot of people have been trying to figure out who I am lately, so, but yeah it’s been an interesting month or so, been going to a few Chiefs games,” he added.

Frye and Swift’s relationship

Just to add some more legitimacy to his claims, Frye also showed a screenshot of him and Swift sharing a hug at the game against the Buffalo Bills in December.

In a November interview with WSJ magazine, the Chiefs tight end, 34, revealed that Swift, also 34, was the first to text him after an unnamed person set them up.

“There were definitely people she knew that knew who I was, in her corner [who said]: ‘Yo! Did you know he was coming?’ I had somebody playing Cupid,” he said at the time.

Kelce gushed that the mystery matchmaker later “told me exactly what was going on and how I got lucky enough to get [Swift] to reach out.”
