Caitlin Clark Defends Angel Reese Amid Taunting Criticism
Caitlin Clark is putting the taunting narrative to bed.
On ESPN’s “Outside The Lines,” Clark made an appearance to talk about LSU forward Angel Reese’s trash talk and taunts she made after the championship game.
Clark, a known trash talker herself, defended Reese, who many thought did too much after the victory.
“I don’t think Angel should be criticized at all,” Clark said.
“No matter which way it goes, she should never be criticized for what she did.
I’m just one that competes and she competed so I think everyone knew there was going to be a little trash talk in the entire tournament.
It’s not just me and Angel. I don’t think she should be criticized, like I said. LSU deserves it.
They played so well and like I said, I’m a big fan of hers.”
Reese and Clark both had superstar showings in the season and NCAA Tournament. Reese posted an NCAA-record 34 triple doubles and Clark had the first-ever back-to-back 40-point triple double recording in the Elite Eight and Final Four.
While uproar over the past few dys seemingly put a divide through women’s basketball, Clark repaired it with a thirty-second answer on TV. As the saying goes, game recognizes game.
