Cardi B Confirms Offset BREAKUP
Cardi B went live on Instagram on Monday to confirm that she and her husband, Offset, have broken up.
Fans speculated the two had called it quits last week, when they noticed the rappers, who tied the knot in 2017, stopped following each other online.
It’s really over between Cardi B and Offset. The “Bodak Yellow” singer confirmed their separation on Instagram Live today.
In the clip, Cardi shared, among other things, that she’s been “single for a while,” but didn’t know how to announce the news to her fans.
“When it comes to events and stuff, I don’t think it’s true, I don’t care to find out because I have been single for a minute now,” she added, seemingly referencing recent rumors that Offset has been seeing other people behind her back.
Of acknowledging the breakup, Cardi explained, “I have been afraid to… not afraid but I just don’t know how to tell the world. I feel like today has been like a sign. The last time I got on Live I kind of wanted to tell you but I didn’t know how to tell you so I changed my mind.”
Cardi expressed that she is now excited and ready for a fresh start in 2024.
The Grammy winner’s big reveal comes days after she and Offset sparkled split rumors when they unfollowed each other on Instagram. At the same time fans were noticing the unfollow, Cardi shared a cryptic message on her Instagram Story about outgrowing relationships. “You know when you just out grow relationships,” she wrote. “I’m tired of protecting peoples feelings…I GOTTA PUT MYSELF FIRST!”
Cardi B and Offset married in 2017 and have two kids together, daughter Kulture Kiari Cephus, 5, and son Wave Set Cephus, 2. They briefly split in 2018 and 2020 after rumors of infidelity, but in both cases reconciled months later.
