Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift ‘are NOT planning on getting engaged soon’ – after reports the Chiefs star was going to propose on her 34th birthday last week

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are not planning an engagement any time soon, it has been claimed.

Reports surfaced at the beginning of December that NFL star Kelce could be planning to get down on one knee around the time of the pop star’s birthday – she turned 34 last week on December 13.

But the celebrations came and went without any further announcement that the couple, who went public with their relationship in September, have stepped things up.

In fact, Kelce stayed in Kansas City for practice while Taylor celebrated her big day in New York.

Now, a report in The Messenger says an engagement is not planned for the near future, with the publication quoting a source as saying: ‘There are no plans for an engagement anytime soon. There is no engagement at this time.’

The couple are set to spend the holidays together with Swift expected to be watching on at both Chiefs games on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve.

Kelce plays the Las Vegas Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium on December 25 and then rounds out 2023 with a game against the Bengals in Kansas City.

The high-profile pair have had more time together in recent weeks with Swift rounding off her touring for the year last month with a string of shows in South America.

But next year, she has a relentless touring schedule as she takes her wildly successful Eras Tour around the globe – with dates in Japan, Australia, Singapore and a summer tour across Europe.

If the Chiefs make the Super Bowl, in Vegas on February 11, Swift has time to make it despite playing in Japan in the week before. Her final Tokyo date is on February 10 but the time difference – and her access to a private jet – means she could easily make the showpiece event of the football season.

But Kelce and the Chiefs will need to pick things up a bit in order to reach that game.

Last season’s Super Bowl victors got back to winning ways on Sunday, with Swift watching on, as they beat the New England Patriots 27-17.

But they went into that game having lost three of the last four and their record at present stands at 9-5.

Speaking on his New Heights podcast this week, Kelce was thrilled that he had Taylor’s support for the game in New England.

‘I’ll say this, they showed Taylor at the game… you don’t see an entire home team fanbase go insane for someone wearing the opposite team’s colors,’ he said. ‘That just shows how amazing that girl is, they went absolutely insane when they showed Taylor on the screen, yes.

‘There might have been a few Brads and Chads who were booing, but for the most part everyone was f***ing screaming their tails off for her. I was trying to keep it cool, I was like, ‘don’t show your cards’.

Kelce continued, ‘It was fun, man. Shoutout to the Patriots of New England. Taylor’s on record saying that stadium is one of the funnest that she’s played at, so for them to show her, that’s just them showing her some love, so shoutout to them for doing that.’
