Gypsy Rose Blanchard Declares Herself a ‘Swiftie’ and Reveals Her Favorite Taylor Swift Songs

Swifties can count Gypsy Rose Blanchard as one of their own.

In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Munchausen by proxy victim, who was released from prison on Dec. 28, opened up about her love for Taylor Swift and revealed her favorite songs from the Grammy winner’s catalog.

“I am a Swiftie. All of her songs are really, really good,” Blanchard, 32, told the outlet before declaring her two current go-to Swift tracks.

“I really like the song ‘Eyes Open,'” she continued, naming the encouragement anthem recorded by Swift, 34, for the soundtrack of the 2012 film The Hunger Games, which features the lyrics: “Everybody’s waiting for you to break down / Everybody’s watching to see the fallout / Even when you’re sleeping / Keep your eyes open.”

“And I’m really digging ‘Karma’ right now,” added Blanchard, referencing a single from Swift’s 2022 Midnights album. “‘Karma’ has been what I have been playing on my playlist a lot. So I’m jamming out to that.”

“Karma” features lyrics about looking to the positive elements of life in order to not dwell on negativity. “Karma is my boyfriend / Karma is a god / Karma is the breeze in my hair on the weekend / Karma’s a relaxing thought / Aren’t you envious that for you it’s not?” sings Swift on the track’s chorus.

Gypsy was released early from prison on Thursday after serving eight years of a 10-year sentence. In 2016, she pleaded guilty to the second-degree murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. Her then-boyfriend Nicholas “Nick” Godejohn, with whom she plotted, was convicted of first-degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison.

Dee Dee subjected Gypsy to unnecessary medical treatment, and convinced her daughter and others that Gypsy had a litany of illnesses as a child. In court, it was argued that Gypsy was a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy.

Gypsy revealed in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE before her release that she would change the past if she could.

“If I had another chance to redo everything, I don’t know if I would go back to when I was a child and tell my aunts and uncles that I’m not sick and Mommy makes me sick, or, if I would travel back to just the point of that conversation with Nick and tell him, ‘You know what, I’m going to go tell the police everything,'” she said. “I kind of struggle with that.”

However, Gypsy also clarified, “Nobody will ever hear me say I’m glad she’s dead or I’m proud of what I did. I regret it every single day.”
