Who is Connor McCaffery?

Connor McCafferty was born to parents Fran and Margaret McCafferty in South Bend, Indiana, on July 13, 1998, and grew up in Iowa City, Iowa.

The former sports star takes after his parents — Fran is the men’s basketball head coach at the University of Iowa and, according to Connor’s page on the Hawkeye’s Sports website, previously played at the University of Pennsylvania and Wake Forest University.

Margaret was an All-American basketball star at the University of Notre Dame.

Connor played both basketball and baseball at the University of Iowa while studying finance at the school’s Tippie College of Business.

According to his LinkedIn profile, he worked as an assistant at Lane Family Wealth Management from June to August 2018 and as a personal trainer from January 2013 to December 2016.

He received multiple recognitions during his college basketball career, such as Iowa’s Male Big Ten Sportsmanship Award during the 2019-2020 season and an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention by the media and coaches during the 2022-2023 season, per his Hawkeye Sports page.

In May 2023, Hawk Central reported that Connor — who wants to pursue a coaching career — told the Des Moines Register that he accepted a job as a team assistant with the Indiana Pacers of the NBA.

Connor said of the position: “I’ll play dummy defense, run the scout team, help coaches on film stuff, help on video projects if they need, scouting reports if they need.

“It’s kind of all-hands on deck, whatever you’re asked to do, be ready to do it.”

“It’s a way in. It’s an entry-level job. You’ve got to work hard and work your way up. That’s obviously what I want to do.”

Who is Caitlin Clark?

Caitlin Clark was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on January 22, 2002.

Like her boyfriend, she is an NCAA athlete who has built a career playing basketball at the University of Iowa.

The sports star has had a highly accomplished career so far, having earned many recognitions.

According to her Hawkeyes Sports page, Caitlin became “Iowa’s all-time leading scorer” during her 103rd game and is the “first Division-I player to record 3,000+ points, 900+ assists, and 800+ rebounds in a career.”

As of the 2023-2024 season, she is “fifth on the all-time NCAA WBB scoring list.”

She has also been named Big Ten Player of the Week and WBCA National Player of the Week multiple times.
