The Boston Celtics, led by Kristaps Porzingis (28 points and 11 rebounds), beat the Lakers (126-115) on Chistmas at LA’s Crypto.com Arena.
It was a mediocre game for LeBron James, despite 8 assists and 9 rebounds to his tally, he only shot 5-14 from the field. But it was a controversial play that had Boston players and fans livid.
During a routine play in the second quarter, LeBron collided with Brown and both players hit the ground. The Celtics star, who received a blow to the back, headed to the locker room while James headed to the bench.
Jaylen Brown ultimately returned to play in the third quarter.
LeBron James says the Lakers’ lack of health relative to the league’s top teams has been a challenge in developing the consistency needed to compete at their best. “We’re still trying to figure out our situation as far as how we want to continue to attack each game” pic.twitter.com/JdU0DjoOlQ

After the game, LeBron said he was “feeling quite sore” after the collision. Certain replays on TV made it seem like it was accidental, while others shedded more doubt.
Nevertheless, the Celtics got the last laugh with a big road win against their historic rivals.
Anthony Davis scored a game-high 40 points, but Los Angeles has dropped six of eight since winning the inaugural In-Season Tournament.

LeBron James spoke to reporters after Christmas loss
“I don’t think we’re healthy right now. I don’t think we’re where we want to be to compete versus the top teams until we continue to get better and better, continue to work out habits,” LeBron said.
“For us, we’re still trying to figure our situation out as far as how we want to continue to attack each game, but we’ll get better.”
