I had a talk with Adam Silver, and I told him it was too much for me. That this whole situation was too much for me. I explained to him that I wanted to retire. He said, “You’re making a brutal decision, and I can’t let you do that.” It was a long conversation and it helped me. He really takes care of his players, I’m proud to be in his NBA.

Caught in a huge media whirlwind after his various slip-ups, Draymond Green would have completely thought about ending his career. He was an All-Star, a 4-time champion with his lifelong franchise, he is an essential element of a great dynasty, he clearly has nothing more to prove.
