Often relegated to the bench since the start of the playoffs, Marine Johannès ignited the basketball world this Sunday evening with a huge success during the WNBA finals. Observers loved it, so much so that even LeBron James sent him a message. Class.
The WNBA finals began this Sunday evening pitting Marine Johannès’ Liberty against Kelsey Plum’s Aces. The New York franchise also started with a defeat and will therefore have to react from Game 2, at the risk of finding itself with a first break behind. Sandy Brondello is counting on her stars with Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu, even if it was Marine who made an impression during Game 1 with an incredible heat stroke (to be seen again).
With 14 points before halftime, for 4/5 from three points and only one missed shot, the Frenchwoman caused a sensation in front of the opposing public. The fans loved it, including Ben Simmons, who was there to support the Big Apple team. But he was not the only one present in person, since LeBron James also made the trip. The King is a great friend of A’Ja Wilson of the Aces.
LeBron’s message for Marine Johannès after his match
Except that like everyone else, the Akron native was especially able to see the show by Marine Johannès live. The spectators really appreciated the play from behind which happened to be very entertaining. We didn’t think we’d say that one day, but even LeBron wouldn’t say otherwise. This Monday, he wanted to share a message for Johannès, on his Twitter account.
She got a CANNON!!!! The 1 leg going left got me out my seat!! 🔥🔥🔥 https://t.co/C1qBUcNg6a

She has one hell of an arm! The single leg shot while shifting to the left got me out of my seat!! 🔥🔥🔥
The shot on one of Johannès’ legs has indeed made the rounds on social networks. James loved it and we understand why when we watch the slow motion, Marine releases such a move with a certain ease. It wasn’t enough to win the Liberty, but MJ23 continues to establish herself as one of the most beautiful players to watch in the WNBA. LeBron understood this well.
LeBron James does not regret his presence in Game 1 of the WNBA Finals. If he came to support the opposing team, he especially appreciated the show put on by Marine Johannès. A hell of a message that the French woman should love.
