Despite the loss at Madison, Christmas was still merry for Giannis.

The Milwaukee Bucks got waylaid by the New York Knicks on Monday night, but the shock loss could not dampen Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Christmas spirit.

Shortly after Milwaukee’s 122-129 defeat to New York, Giannis penned a heartwarming Christmas message, showing that he was still merry despite the Bucks failing to get the job done in their sixth-straight Christmas appearance.

Great efforts fall short

Giannis actually did his best to help continue Milwaukee’s dominance over New York by collecting 32 points, 12 rebounds, six steals, two blocks, and an assist.

Damian Lillard was also productive, with 32 points and eight assists.

But Jalen Brunson and company proved too much in the two teams’ second meeting in three days as the Knicks finally prevailed after suffering a string of losses at the hands of the Bucks.

Milwaukee beat New York, 130-111, in the opener of the two-game series on Saturday night, also at the Madison Square Garden.

New York ended its nine-game losing streak to Milwaukee, although the Bucks still lead in their head-to-head match with the Knicks this season, 3-1.

Brunson fired 38 points, Julius Randle scored 24, and RJ Barrett added 21. Immanuel Quickley came off the bench to add 20 points, becoming the third Knick to score at least 20.

Impressive December run

The loss snapped Milwaukee’s season-high seven-game winning streak. Although they left Madison with a defeat, Milwaukee had a lot of reasons to be merry.

The Bucks still hold an impressive 9-2 record for the month of December and are still in second place in the Eastern Conference with a 22-8 record.

Milwaukee will continue its four-game road trip in Brooklyn on Wednesday night.
