Taylor Swift’s Unexpected Golden Globes Selfie Caught on Camera

Whether it’s the MTV VMAs or the Grammys, Taylor Swift knows how to steal the show at an awards ceremony.

The pop star went viral not once, but twice, during the Golden Globes on Sunday night. First, for gossiping with BFF singer Selena Gomez, and second, for an unexpected photo with the actor Bill Hader.

During a commercial break, the comedian was filmed talking to 34-year-old singer, with Swift appearing to ask Hader if he’d like a selfie. The music icon pouted for the camera, with the 45-year-old Saturday Night Live star hilariously attempting to copy her expression.

Fans unable to cope with the adorableness, claiming to be “obsessed” with the photo.

“BILL HADER AND TAYLOR SWIFT OMG,” said @mattysbf on X, formerly Twitter.

“The two people that run my brain,” wrote Collette.

“I was freaking out when I saw them,” said lyss.

“The most ‘father of daughters’ selfie ever taken,” joked Alison Herman.

“Bill Hader panic duck facing because Taylor Swift did is just such a Bill Hader moment,” said mich.

“We love this reunion,” commented Maroon, while Joe said: “Imagine them doing a movie together.”

Many users theorized that the photo was for Hader’s children. The Beau if Afraid actor shares three children—Hannah, 13, Harper, 11, and Haley, 8—with his ex-wife, the actor and director Maggie Carey.

“This has to be for his kids,” wrote @learning_to_die.

“He’s definitely sending that to his daughter(s),” said Chelle.

“His little girls are gonna lose their minds!” commented @Rainbow08241763.

This isn’t the first time Swift and Hader have broken the internet. The Grammy winner has appeared on Saturday Night Live numerous times over the years. Hader was a cast member from 2005 to 2013, and has since returned as a guest.

The duo worked together on the 2010 sketch “Firelight,” a parody of the Twilight movies. Swift starred as Stella Swan, a satire of protagonist Bella Swan (portrayed by Kristen Stewart in the franchise), while Hader played Fredward, a werewolf spoof of the saga’s primary love interest, vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson).

Swift made her SNL debut in 2009, when she was just 19 years old, performing as the musical guest and appearing in two skits. She hosted the sketch show a year later, poking fun at ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas in her opening monologue.

In 2015, she made a cameo during SNL’s 40th-anniversary special, taking part in the show’s recurring soap opera parody Californians alongside Bradley Cooper and Kerry Washington.

Swift returned as the musical guest in 2017, 2019 and 2021, as well as making a surprise appearance in October 2023. The “Anti-Hero” singer introduced her pal, rapper Ice Spice, who was making her own debut as the show’s musical guest.
