Ranbir Kapoor is often in news for his love life. Either there are rumours of his alleged affair or the rumours of his breakup with his existing girlfriend, but the actor always manages to stir clear of all the allegations. On the sets of the film, Bachna Ae Haseeno, Ranbir had begun dating his co-star, Deepika Padukone, and their relationship was adored by their fans. They were considered to be the ‘IT’ couple of town, with Deepika’s confession on an award show to her RK’s tattoo and their chemistry, everything was the talk of the town then. However, the couple had broken up after dating for a long time, and people started speculating the possible reasons for the couple’s breakup. Out of all the speculations, there was one rumour that claimed, Ranbir Kapoor’s mother, Neetu Kapoor to be the reason for the split between the good-looking couple.

In 2013, Ranbir had clarified all the rumours that accused his mother being the reason for his breakup with ex-girlfriend, Deepika Padukone. On Rajat Sharma’s television show, Aap Ki Adalat, Ranbir had said, “It’s an issue between two individuals, but people work on several theories and then disturb things. My mother loves me a lot and wants me to live my own life. My mother is also very fond of Deepika. So, at least this was not the reason for the split. I want to clarify, my mother was not the reason for the break-up.”

There were also reports stating that the other ex of Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif was the reason behind his breakup with Deepika Padukone. It was said that his affair with Katrina had started during the production of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani in 2009. When Ranbir was asked about the same on the show, he had said, “Deepika is still my friend. Why we broke up? It was our personal matter. Out of respect for the relationship and that she is a girl, she will get married in the future so talking things about her, I don’t want to disrespect her.”

Ranbir had also talked about Deepika’s comment that he should endorse condoms. He had said, “I think what she said is great. Condoms are something we all should be aware of. I didn’t feel bad about this. I will try and endorse condoms.” When he was asked about Deepika’s statement that ‘someone should check Katrina Kaif’s passport’, the Rockstar actor had said, “Neither am I Katrina Kaif’s secretary nor do I check passports. Deepika is more than welcome to call her and check.”

Fast forward to the year 2020, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone have moved on in their individual lives. While Deepika is happily married to Ranveer Singh, Ranbir too is in love with Alia Bhatt. And four of them get along with each other really well!
