Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce recently upgraded to a $6 million mansion in Kansas City. The 17,000-square-foot mansion is found in a gated community inside the suburb of Leawood, Realtor.com reported. 

Kelce also appears to have scored a deal as the property was originally listed in September 2022 for $6.9 million. The home sits on approximately 3.5 acres at the end of a cul-de-sac and has much more privacy than the NFL star’s previous residence in Briarcliff West from 2019.

And since being romantically linked with Taylor Swift, more privacy is definitely necessary. Sources reported to TMZ that Kelce’s previous house was “simply far too accessible” and “starting to become a tourist attraction.” Fans began flocking to the area and taking photos of the home.

The new mansion not only offers privacy, but plenty of space and amenities perfect for the football powerhouse and his superstar love interest. It has six bedrooms and six bathrooms, as well as a chef’s kitchen, formal dining room, media lounge, wine cellar and a full bar. Outside amenities include a  spacious backyard with a pool area, a six-car garage, an outdoor kitchen, a tennis/pickleball court, a waterfall, a hot tub and a miniature golf course.

According to the listing, the property was originally built in 1998 and has undergone a massive renovation by Wolfgang Trost Architects and builder Harry Roth.

The two-time Super Bowl Champ has added a few properties to his portfolio since being drafted by the Chiefs in 2013, Robb Report reported. Kelce purchased the 10,000-square-foot Briarcliff West home for $995K. That home included five bedrooms, two baths, a fitness room, a movie theater and a swimming pool. In the same year, the player purchased a condo in Orlando, Florida for $335K.

Although Swift and Kelce have appeared to be getting serious, the new home is all Kelce’s, with sources telling TMZ he bought it with his own cash. Swift has an impressive real estate portfolio of her own, with $150 million worth of property investments.

Aside from his mission to impress Swift, Kelce had another pressing reason to make this high-profile move.

His old house was just too accessible, becoming an unintended tourist attraction, separate sources told TMZ.

The old place had its charm, but Kelce was over the constant swarm of fans and tourists who had turned his humble abode into a bona fide spectacle.
