“Curry Would Never Push a Fan Away Like That”: LeBron James’ Behavior Angers Fans, As Spectator Gets Kicked Out After Viral Interaction

When you’re LeBron James, ‘trouble’ comes walking over the stands to greet you. The mayhem started before the Los Angeles Lakers‘s decisive seven-point victory over the two-seed, OKC Thunder, with a final score of 105-112. Despite Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams combining 49 points, the big two of LA AD and Bron successfully kept them at bay. However, it is not LBJ’s impressive stat line of 25,7 and 6 that’s got the fans in a temper. It all went down before the game even began.

@basketballnews took to post a video on Instagram with the caption, “A fan got kicked out after he ran and put his arms around LeBron James.” In the viral clip, a middle-aged man seems to walk right past security to come over to the stands to hug Bron. The clip shows LBJ completely taken aback by the man walking towards him as he was probably locked into the upcoming match-up with Shai Gilgeous and Co.

As he moves forward with the hug, the former MVP moves him away with a light shove before things can get any worse. However, security immediately swarms the man. Thereafter, the security escorts the man out of Crypto.com Arena. Despite the clip seemingly showing LBJ in the clear, fans in the comments section seem to have their sympathies with the man instead. The comments section is flooded with angry users blasting the Akron Hammer.

Fans disapprove of LeBron James’ reaction

A figure as popular as LeBron is often more scrutinized than your average NBA player. One user points out his dissatisfaction with LBJ writing, “I’m surprised he didn’t LeFlop when the fan touched him.” Another fan rushed to Bron’s defense saying, ” I mean i wouldn’t appreciate someone running up on me unexpectedly. Not a LeBron fan but he isn’t wrong about pushing someone away from his personal space.” Another user bizarrely brings in James’ rival Stephen Curry and writes, ” Curry would never push a fan away like that.”

Others in the comments expressed concerns over LeBron’s safety with one concerned fan writing, ” No way y’all blaming him for a random person walking up and touching him in a restricted area ppl are crazy there’s no telling what ppl intentions are.” Another fan pointed out the lapse in security for the veteran, adding, “How did he get that close to him? Somebody just lost their job”
