After five years, Backstreet is back, all right. Your favorite boy band of the ’90s (unless you were one of those *NSYNC kids) got in the studio and released a new tune. “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” is an updated version of the pop sensation, and while it’s giving us chills, it’s also got the world hungry for some sonic nostalgia.

If you’re a fan, you know these songs backward and forward, inside and out — but have you heard them like this? We’ve gathered five of our favorite remixes of Backstreet Boys songs to best relive the magic but still keep it fresh. From trudging bass to chill house, here is the Backstreet Boys as you’ve never heard them.

Backstreet Boys – “Everybody” (Apashe x Oski x Lennon Remix)

Does anything sound better than clanging ’90s drums? Let the “woo”s wash over your body as Apashe, Oski and Lennon give one of Backstreet Boys’ most beloved hits a serious bass boost. If only there were synths this hard in 1998. Everything you love about the original is kept intact, which makes this remix a real crowd pleaser. Just watch out for the tempo change. Things will get hot.

Backstreet Boys are an international movement, and this Irish producer gives “Everybody” a meaner grit. It rains a lot in Ireland, so industrial beats just kind of feel right. The comments in YouTube suggest listening to it at 1.25 times the normal speed. Apparently, it’ll give you whiplash.

Backstreet Boys – “I Want It That Way” (Anstandslos & Durchgeknallt Remix)

Maybe an easier groove is the way you want it, and in that case, look no further than this remix of Backstreet Boys’ top 10 anthem “I Want It That Way.” An acoustic guitar gives the tune new flavor, a kicked-up beat gives it more energy, and a tropical-infused vibe gives it all the colors of a sunset cruise. That saxophone solo, though, that’s the real star.

Backstreet Boys – “I Want It That Way” (Jim Yosef Remix)

Did someone say chill? Jim Yosef can actually take you one chiller with his future pop take on “I Want It That Way.” This Backstreet Boys remix is everything your heartthrob daydreams wished for. Soar sky high on a beautiful melody, and don’t ever worry about coming back down.

Backstreet Boys – “Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely” (Aytac Kart Remix)

Who said heartbreak had to hurt? All right, nothing can take away the pain of love turned down, but this remix of “Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely” from Aytac Kart will have you wishing on a star once more. It’s a cool evening breeze and a mysterious cutie across the room. Go ahead and take the leap, or stay lonely forever.
