The couple have also unfollowed each other on social media.
Keith, 49, is said to be deeply affected by the situation as they attempt to remain “civil” for the sake of their children.
A source added to the Mirror: “It has come as a shock to everyone.
“Back in July, they appeared happier than ever while celebrating 25 years together on a trip of a lifetime to the French Riviera.”
The source added that the pair are keen to “keep the divorce civil”.
Keith and Lisa, a fashion stylist, share son Jay, 27, and daughter Mia, 23.

Keith married Lisa in Las Vegas in 1998.
Bandmate Ronan Keating was best man.
One of the biggest pop acts of the 1990s, Boyzone were formed in 1993 by Louis Walsh and also consist of Ronan, Mikey Graham and Shane Lynch.
Their hits include: Picture of You, Words, Baby Can I Hold You Tonight, plus a cover of When the Going Gets Tough for Comic Relief in 1999.
Initially, Mikey was not picked for the band following the audition, but was later redrafted after the first choice, Richard Rock left the band due to “creative differences”.
The band initially focused on their own take on classic songs and broke through to the UK with second single, Love Me For A Reason, in 1994.
During their time in the charts, they scored eighteen top ten hits in the Official UK Chart with six UK hit singles – making them the second biggest boy band after Take That.
Their greatest hits include: Picture of You, Words, Baby Can I Hold You Tonight, plus a cover of When the Going Gets Tough for Comic Relief in 1999.
Boyzone’s biggest hit was No Matter What released in 1999 which went on to sell three million copies worldwide, even breaking the Top 40 in America.
Officially splitting in 2000, the group have frequently got back together for landmark tours for fans – including the Back Again…No Matter What tour in 2009 – the last time they’d perform as a five-piece before the tragic death of Stephen Gately.
The band also reunited in 2013 to celebrate their 20th anniversary with a tour and new releases.
Keith turned his hand to acting after Boyzone initially parted ways and joined Coronation Street as barman Ciaran McCarthy.
He played the role between 2002 to 2005 before returning for another stint in 2010 until 2011.
Keith also scored a role as John the security guard in 2014’s Mrs. Brown’s Boys D’Movie.
His other TV work includes stints on murder mystery caper Death in Paradise and short-lived sitcom Fair City.
As well as this, he’s participated in some reality shows including Celebrity Big Brother and Splash, and game shows including The Magicians and The Celebrity Chase.
Keith also sings with Boyzlife, and recently suffered a health scare when he fell as he took part in the Mount Kenya challenge to raise money for children with autism.
Dad-of-two Keith, who admitted he had “bad knees already” said he was hoping to stay fit for any comeback by his old band Boyzone.
