Update: Kim Kardashian Comedy ‘The Fifth Wheel’ Finds Home w/ Netflix After Bidding War

Update: (Nov 27, 2023): Kim Kardashian’s upcoming project has officially found a home.

As previously reported, the reality TV celeb is gearing up to star in and produce a female-driven comedy titled “The 5th Wheel.” Reports said that multiple studios were “lining up to get in business” with Kim, who was allegedly 100% hands-on when it came to the pitching process.

According to new reports, the bidding war for the film is finally over and Netflix was the last one standing! At this time, the logline and supporting cast for the movie have not been revealed. Key details about Netflix’s contract also have not been released to the public.

Kim Kardashian returns to the big screen, but this time, the reality TV mogul takes the lead. Kim Kardashian has been named to star in a female-driven comedy, The 5th Wheel. Not only will Kim beef up her acting chops, but she will also produce alongside writer Paula Pell, famed Saturday Night Live vet.

The project is currently at the pitch level, but reportedly, there are multiple bids from studios ready to battle it out for the film. Apparently, Kim has been very hands-on with getting this movie idea in front of top executives in the industry by showing up to pitch meetings herself. Naturally, they all want to do business with the billionaire entrepreneur.

Kim’s recent small-screen performance in the hit FX series “American Horror Story” seems to have proven that the mom of four can do anything she puts her mind to. As we previously reportedEric Deggans told TMZ that he believes, 

“Kim Kardashian has long been underrated and is about to take the world by storm with a strong acting performance.” 

American Horror Story 12 premiered on September 20, 2023, starring the “Skims” creator, and she reportedly received rave reviews for her portrayal of a power publicist willing to do anything for her client. 

Kim dabbled in acting early in her rising reality star career. Still, her first significant movie role was in Tyler Perry’s Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor alongside Vanessa Williams and Jurnee Smollet. The fashion icon also did voiceover work for the animated film Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie with her children North and Saint which premiered in theaters just nine days after her American Horror Story debut. 

Kim has not responded to the news and no additional details about the movie have been made public.
