Eddie Murphy, born Edward Regan Murphy in Brooklyn, New York, is an American comedian, impersonator, singer, and actor.
He rose to notoriety after appearing on Saturday Night Live as a comedian. He has also appeared in a number of box office hits, including A Thousand Words (2012), Dream Girls (2006), Tower Heist (2011), Trading Places (1983), and The Nutty Professor (1996). He also shown his extraordinary talent in the Coming to America series, in which he played four parts in each film. He’s also the voice of the ascetic-tongued “Donkey” in the Shrek movie, which is one of his most successful flicks.
His showbiz career spans nearly five decades, and his popularity shows no signs of abating anytime soon. Have you ever pondered how and where he spent the money he had saved over the years? Of course, when he isn’t treating himself and his family to a sumptuous family vacation, he invests his millions in great real estate holdings, such as his Beverly Hills mansion, where he lives like a king.
Murphy, like other celebrities, found a home in Beverly Hills, the village of the affluent and famous. His residence is an 18,598-square-foot estate on 3.7 acres of property in North Beverly Park. He paid $10 million for the estate in 2001. According to rumours, the home now costs $20 million or more after a series of repairs and customizations.
Murphy’s residence is nothing short of magnificent. It contains 17 bathrooms, ten bedrooms, and a large library. He also appreciates the convenience of having two large living rooms and two dining places.
Murphy enjoys splurging on his home’s entertainment areas because he is an entertainer himself. He owns a large cinema as well as a two-lane bowling alley. Outside, he has a large swimming pool surrounded by lounge seats. A hot tub is also located on one of the pool’s sides. A buried mason barbeque pit is also available. These attributes enable Eddie to spend a lot of quality time with his family, particularly his ten children.
The property also has a four-car garage, an underground vault, a trellis-enclosed tennis court, and a basketball court.
Even as you walk in, you can sense Murphy’s royal presence. The foyer features arched doorways with ornate embellishments. And as it opens, it reveals an area that appears like a palace even before you step inside. It contains a number of balconies as well as a European-style rooftop patio with a garden. At the back of the property, there are four tall palm trees and other flora for added aesthetics.
