Hundreds of social media users have been ripping into the Conservative Party after they tried to mock Keir Starmer by using a David Beckham meme. Needless to say it didn’t go down well

The Conservative Party has been roundly ridiculed for using a David Beckham meme to take a swipe at Sir Keir Starmer.
A clip from an episode of Golden Balls’ recent Netflix docu-series ‘Beckham’, in which David called out wife Victoria for claiming she had a working class upbringing despite being driven to school in a Rolls-Royce, went viral a few months ago and the Tories thought they’d use it to correct one of the Labour leader’s fibs.
During an appearance on Thursday’s ITV Tonight, Sir Keir claimed he never wanted predecessor Jeremy Corbyn to be Prime Minister, but the Conservative Party’s X admin revealed he said the opposite ahead of the 2019 General Election, using frames from the Netflix show, with Starmer playing the role of Victoria.
