Watch how Johnny Manziel surprises everyone by launching a dart at Patrick Mahomes that catches the quarterback off guard.

Patrick Mahomes career has been on a constant rise. Since his high school days at Whitehouse High School, Mahomes already showed signs of his undeniable talent and is considered one of the best quarterbacks to have come out of Texas, but Johnny Manziel believes that there was someone much better.

Manziel has become a byword for rebirth, his rapid rise and dizzying fall at the turn of the century in the NFL making him a survivor. In addition, he studied at Tivy High School, in Kerrville, Texas, so he knows what he is talking about.

In a recent chat on “The Shay Shay Club” podcast, host Shannon Sharpe asked, “What are they drinking in Texas?” to produce many of the best quarterbacks to ever come to the NFL, including Patrick Mahomes.

In this regard, Manziel responded that football in Texas is a way of life, and most kids start at a very young age in children’s leagues. The panorama of this sport in the state has been growing, and that has helped the development of great players, said the former quarterback.

Mahomes, for his part, was the tenth overall pick in 2017. In these eight years, he has won three Super Bowls and was the MVP in those same victories. He was also the MVP of the 2018 and 2022 seasons. He was the Offensive Player of the Year in 2018 and has been called to the Pro Bowl six times.

The debate over who is the Greatest of All Time in the NFL will continue perhaps until the end of time. However, Manziel is very clear about who has been the best player to come out of Texas, and Mahomes has no place in the conversation.
